The Art of Living.
A Buddhist Magazine
about,
Michaela (she/her) is a British based Freelance Senior Designer and creative writer with over twelve years of experience producing content, developing projects and managing creative teams for a diverse range of clients, companies and sectors across the UK and US. Her Indian-Malaysian / British heritage and daily practise as a Nichiren Buddhist provides a wild, deep and meaningful philosophy and way of living. Rich with imagination, symmetrical imperfections, unhinged certainties and vibrant synchronicities made manifest through through honest creativity, playful experimentation and the curious interconnectedness of cause and effect between self, others and the lived environment; expressive colours, graceful typefaces, unpolished edges and the limitless joys of possibility and potential happening everywhere to everything all at once, paints and inspires the textures, sound and vision of the world she narrates, aspires to create and longs to be a part of. Pain and I
Sarah Hopfinger.
‘A diversely accessible body of work, Pain and I can be experienced as a live dance performance, digital audio piece, graphic score (digital & publication), or immersive installation. Featuring playful choreography, intimate poetic text, and new classical music composition. This compelling autobiographical work asks what can pain teach us? Audiences are invited to reflect on what it means to care for our bodies, ourselves, and each other in times of personal and collective pain.’
